Kevin,
Can you expand on using DOSBox. Up to now I have been using DOSEmu (the original version, not the new DOSEmu2 version) under Linux Mint, but unfortunately, the latest version of Mint doesn't appear to be compatible with DOSEmu so I'm still using an older version of Mint. It is my intention to try to get Mpro working on DOSBox, so any indication as to what you did would be helpful.
Many thanks,
Peter G. Shaw

Quite strange this - I wondered if anyone was still using MPRO, whilst going through some of my 'archives'. I kept hold of my original disks (my last refresh was in 1999 for a network version of MPRO) and most of the applications I wrote. I also happened across an install disk for 'Format'.
Having also now got a spare machine, I have installed FreeDOS with a view to having a play once more. Looking forward to it.
Interestingly (or not) I started, and ran for several years what I think was the original MPRO User Group. We had quite a few members based around the globe, including one in Zimbabwe! A disk went out every month with information and projects from the members, all of which had to be copied and posted out. Internet way too slow back then!

I've come across a Town Hall that uses Mpro for keeping burial records. They updated their computer which now runs Windows 10. I've used vDos which allows MPro to run again but they are unable to export the data for archiving/backup purposes. When I try to export I get the message syntax error check service. Also when I choose Select All I'm not sure its doing that however that might be me just expecting all the records to be highlighted in blue as per windows.
Many Thanks,
Graham

For the benefit of others that might be in the same boat. I managed to fix the problem by going into Directory and pressing F to change the file format. This brings up a list one of which is .DAS which is the service file. Select that and this allows you to open the Service File directly, I found a commma was misplaced. Saved the file and I was able to then export. However the export is pretty useless as it strips out all the formatting. The better option is to use Print to Disc which is like export but it keeps all the headings and formatting. Then use Notepad++ to open the file. Happy Days.

FWIW, I use Mpro on Linux Mint v.20.3 via DOSemu2. It works quite well although I haven't tried exporting data because I don't need to do. However, as far as I am aware, data can be exported as ASCII or DB3.
